Eric D. Swanson, Executive Vice President of Flagler, is responsible for the management and development of Flagler assets in the South Florida marketplace. Flagler currently owns 5.5 million sf of office and industrial product in South Florida, as well as over 1,000 acres of entitled land for potential development. Additional responsibilities include corporate responsibility of Flagler Real Estate Services, LLC an industry leader in brokerage and management services to third parties; the various joint ventures managed by Flagler, and ultimately all development services provided to third parties.
Mr. Swanson has been active in the commercial real estate industry for over 25 years, including work in real estate leasing, management, development and sales. Prior to joining Flagler, Mr. Swanson held executive positions with the Broe Group, LandBank Group, Codina Development, and Koger Properties.
Over his career, Mr. Swanson’s development projects include office and industrial development in South Florida, New Jersey and Ohio; and several land development projects in those states as well as in Colorado, California and New Mexico. His area of expertise includes real estate entitlements, planning and development of infrastructure, office and industrial development, and land sales.

Nationally recognized for achievements as a developer and workout specialist, Michael Maxwell has spent over 30 years acquiring and developing nearly $1 billion in real estate assets, primarily in Florida and the Caribbean.
He is the Interim Director of Real Estate for Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Master of Real Estate Program and the Managing Partner of MAXWELL+Partners, LLC, Miami, FL.
Michael was appointed as the Interim Director of NSU’s Real Estate Program in early 2010 and has been on its faculty since 2006. He directs a nationally unique master’s degree program offering MSRED, MBA/RED and Real Estate Development and Finance Certificates. The program is taught by successful industry professionals who are top in their respective fields. Its cutting edge curriculum is designed and steered by a highly involved board of respected real estate industry leaders. Michael has grown the program’s development focus to include finance and investments with a program emphasis on critical thinking communication and skills needed to survive in today’s challenging marketplace. His student team won the 1st South Florida NAIOP Challenge in 2010.
His firm offers both development and advisory services with specializations in urban infill development and work-outs. He has won numerous awards for innovative project solutions that created new market opportunities and products. His credits include development of more than 2 million square feet of mixed-use, office, retail, warehouse/distribution, resort hotel, residential and specialty products. As an advisor, he has lead and participated in workouts, restructures, construction completion, and dispositions exceeding $300 million throughout Florida, the Caribbean and Central America. He is an expert witness on asset evaluations, workouts and dispute resolution.
As an educator developer and advisor, Michael is known as a creative “out of the box” thinker who visions innovative value added products. A trained architect and urban planner, his projects are known as exciting places featuring award winning design. He has won numerous awards for preservation, industrial and redevelopment projects. He is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute, a licensed real estate and mortgage broker and holds the American Institute of Certified Planners AICP designation. He earned a BA from the University of Texas, and a Master of Planning from the University of Virginia. He is active in the community and industry in the ULI Florida/Caribbean District Council Executive Committee; ULI Inner City Council; Co-vice chair, 2008 ULI Fall Meeting; ULI Advisory Services panelist; Greater Miami Urban League and is founder of New Urban Development LLC, a not-for-profit affordable housing development company.
